Four years after winning his first career title in Stockholm, top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas will look to repeat the feat in the Swedish capital.
The top seed eased to a 6-2, 6-2 win over Finland’s Emil Ruusuvuori in Saturday’s semifinals to move through to his seventh final of the season. In the championship, he’ll face a Scandinavian favorite: Denmark’s Holger Rune, who came from a set down in his 4-6, 7-6(1), 7-5 semifinal victory over Australia’s Alex de Minaur.
“[It was] a great match from my side, I think I played very well,” Tsitsipas said in victory. “I was really focused. [It was] one of the matches where I was really into the game and I was able to produce some really good tennis throughout the entire match, pretty much. I was there, I was very daring, I was really going for it, and it worked in my favor.”
