Despite the Broncos‘ early-season problems, other teams have continued to keep an eye on and desire some of its players.
According to ESPN, wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler as well as top defensive end Bradley Chubb have all drawn trade interest during the past week.
If the Broncos make any trades at all, other clubs have reportedly stated that they won’t sell low and will instead be value traders.
The 26-year-old Chubb has 5.5 sacks through Denver’s first six games, but he is in the final year of his deal, and defensive end values are only going to rise. Jeudy, a first-round pick in the 2020 draft, and Hamler, a second-round pick by the Broncos in the same year, have yet to find their footing in Denver’s new scheme.
After dealing two first-round picks and two second-round picks to the Seattle Seahawks earlier this year for Russell Wilson, the Broncos are likewise low on draft picks.
Therefore, despite the fact that the Broncos (2-4) are not thought of as a seller prior to the NFL’s trade deadline of November 1, other teams have been checking in with them this past week.
There are five tight ends on the roster, but only Albert Okwuegbunam has had a chance to play. The Broncos are rumored to be open to selling him.
What the future endures for the Broncos
Denver’s future may also be determined by the outcomes of its next two contests. After playing the New York Jets at home on Sunday, the Broncos will head to London to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8. The Broncos would be more likely to keep their players if they won both games and advanced to the playoffs.
The Broncos would prefer to keep all of those guys, but for a variety of reasons, they would have to seriously consider any trade offers.
