He currently has 21 Grand Slams, one behind Rafael Nadal’s record of 22, and holds the record for most weeks at the No.1 ranking, among many statistical accolades.
“Everything related to some kind of record is interesting to Novak,” Ivanisevic said. “The question remains how much he will play and how long it will last, but at the moment he is in now, I am sure he could go for or reach those records as well.”
Though not currently in the Top 8 in the standings for the ATP Finals, Djokovic has secured the Grand Slam wildcard into the event because he is ranked in the Top 20 and won the title at Wimbledon, though he did not get any ranking points for the victory.
But he could now reduce his schedule for the rest of the season, with Ivanisevic saying that Djokovic “will play in Turin, but the question remains whether he will go to Paris before that,” referring to the Paris Masters which is played before the ATP Finals.
The No. 7 is also scheduled to play Davis Cup.
