The French Football Federation (FFF) denounced the racist insults uttered on social media against their players after the defeat against Argentina in the final of the World Cup in Qatar.

“After the World Cup final, several players of the France team were the target of racist, hateful and unacceptable statements on social media. The FFF condemns them and will file complaints against their authors,” the FFF wrote on Twitter.

At this time, the FFF has not released further details about these comments or how those responsible for the hateful messages will be identified.

The racist insults affected players such as Kingsley Coman or Aurelien Tchouameni, who missed their respective penalties in the shootout, and Randal Kolo Muani, who had a chance in stoppage time of extra time that could have been decisive.

Back in 2021, at the European Championship, striker Kylian Mbappe was also the victim of a cataract of such comments after missing a penalty against Switzerland in the round of 16. After those incidents, the Les Bleus superstar reproached the FFF for their inaction and lack of support.
