Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Ryan Garcia have agreed to the framework of a deal to fight January 2023 in Las Vegas, according to Sports Illustrated.

The 136-pound catchweight fight is finally going to happen, but one obstacle remains before it’s official.

Mayweather Promotions, which represents Davis, wants the fight pay-per-view exclusively on Showtime.

Golden Boy, meanwhile, promotes Garcia and will reportedly not agree to the fight unless streaming service DAZN is involved.

Ongoing negotiations will iron out further details, but financial terms have been agreed upon, with both fighters getting guarantees and will split PPV percentages.

Ryan Garcia agrees to drop weight

Garcia (23-0) could finally lose his undefeated record when facing Davis (27-0), one of the sport’s elite fighters.

Davis, 27, has agreed to come up to 136 pounds from 135, while Garcia will have to drop four pounds ahead of the bout.

Garcia boasts over nine million followers on Instagram, where he has recently waged war against Davis.

Tank, meanwhile, has friends in high places rooting for him, such as Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant.
