It’s really unfortunate that as King Charles III takes the throne as England’s monarch, Netflix’s ‘The Crown’ is about to release the season that depicts the most dramatic time in his life. Princess Diana’s tragic passing is one of those events in human history that left more unaswered quaestions than actual facts.
A moment in British Royalty history that can only be compared to other major events such as Abraham Lincoln or John F. Kennedy’s assassinations. King Charles III will have to endure the telling of this story as Netflix sees it fit, regardless of whether the Royal Family approves it or not.
A tid bit of news about King Charles III’s prediclection for this Netflix show just cameto light from one of the most important Royal Family experts in the world. Vanity Fair contributor and Royal biographer Katie Nicholl spoke to Entertainment Tonight: “We don’t know if the king is going to watch this series. I can tell you, that he’s watched previous seasons of ‘The Crown’ and enjoyed it.
” I think the last series was a little too close to the bone as well. I think that was just such a low moment for the royal family. I mean, Charles admitting adultery, and this was the sort of war of the Wales‘ being played out in spectacular fashion in the tabloids. And then, on camera, in different interviews. I think it [will] probably [be] an awkward moment, but whether the king is going to see it, we may never find out.”
Prince William and Prince Harry will also suffer watching ‘The Crown’
According to Nicholl, the fifth season of ‘The Crown‘ will also become an unbearable experience for both Prince William and Prince Harry. Both of them were still children when all of this took place and it always brings back terrible memories for them. In many ways, they feel like the ghost of Princess Diana will never truly be laid to rest over the retelling of this story. It was truly the darkest time in the Royal Family’s history.
