One of the biggest events in the long-distance running calendar takes place this Sunday, November 6, in the 2022 edition of the New York Marathon.
The race is on the to-do list of many marathon enthusiasts and offers a spectacular road running experience. Once again, tens of thousands will be taking to the start line on Sunday.
Back to normal
In 1997, the New York Marathon had over 30,000 entrants for the first time and continued to grow from then on. In 2020 it was cancelled and in 2021 there was a reduced field of 33,000.
This year, the spectacle will be back to normal and back to its huge size, with some 50,000 runners expected to take part. We can expect this to be a vibrant celebration, as the city always unites behind the athletes.
