It’s the fight we’ve all been yearning for and Oscar de la Hoya has finally confirmed it, the Lightweight bout between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis. These two are the absolute best in their division and they need to settle who is the top dog once and for all. For many weeks, they have been going back and forth taunting each other and calling each other out. Ryan has repeatedly said Gervonta wasn’t willing to sign a contract but something changed over the past weekend.

As it turns out, Davis has finally agreed to everything. At least that’s what Golden Boy Promotions owner Oscar de la Hoya confirmed. He spoke to iD Boxing about the possible fight and surprised everybody who has been waiting for an update. This is what he said: “The promoters have done their job. We’ve come to terms and everything. Now it’s up to the networks. Showtime, DAZN. Please, for the fans. Make it happen! I’m not en executive but as a fan, please. Showtime, DAZN. Make this fight happen!”

Have Garcia and Davis responded to this?

In terms of acknowledging the fight itself, both Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis have posted tweets about their fight. Davis retweeted a piece of news about the American broadcasters and their reluctance to reach an agreement with both sides. He seems just as fed up and tired as anybody about this situation. Negotiations with the broadcasters are stuck right now and they need to improve quickly.

Ryan Garcia was far more direct with his response to the whole scenario, he wanted to send both broadcasters a message. Through a tweet, Garcia reminded folks who want this fight that the people not always get wht they want. Fighters not always get what they want and they need to work hard in order to get them. This is what he wrote on Twitter: “The things you really want in life will never be easy.”

If this fight happens, it will definitely become a top contender for the most anticipated boxing match of the entire year. The reason for this is very straight forward. We are talking about two of the most electrifying and skilled boxers in the world right now. Sparks will fly between the two of them as soon as they get on the ring. As far as boxing level goes, it doesn’t get more competitive than this. We are all wishing this fight happens.

Showtime and DAZN surely have their demands to make, especially with Pay Per View sales. They also know how important this fight would be for the sport of boxing, which is why they want to make the best possible deal for their pockets. However, not reaching an agreement and stalling this fight will only make all fans grow impatient for the fight to happen. As Oscar de la Hoya said, make this fight happen!
