Racquet franchises aren’t always easily classified, but Dunlop has simplified the identities of its lines with the core elements of the game in mind. Players looking for heightened control over their shots will focus on the CX series. If extreme spin is the objective, the SX family is designed for that purpose. And if hitting with maximum force is the goal, the FX line can bring the heat.
As is the case with many power-oriented frames, the FX models have a firm layup, wide beams and easy acceleration. For this latest generation, the racquets have been updated to create a more refined and comfortable feel. There are five key technologies featured in the frames:
- Sonic Core. Material placed at 2 and 10 o’clock on the frame that reduces vibrations for enhance feel and comfort.
- Power Boost Frame Geometry. A wider throat construction improves aerodynamics and provides maximum stability and energy return at contact.
- Power Boost+ Groove. A new deeper and wider groove under the grommet strip creates more deflection of the frame and strings at impact for increased power, sweet spot and comfort.
- Powergrid String Tech. The string bed is larger across the mains and crosses for more even power distribution, particularly at the top of the racquet.
- Frame Stiffness Adjustment. Less beam stiffness promotes a softer response, more comfortable feel as well as added dwell time for increased spin and power.
