Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown took to Twitter on Monday to question NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell over a “random” drug test a day after posting incredible stats in a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Brown, 25, racked up 156 yards and three touchdowns on six receptions to help lift Philly to a 35-13 victory.
“I would have a drug test this morning huh lol Rogerrrrr this is not random @NFL,” Brown tweeted.
Sunday’s victory over Pittsburgh continues the team’s undefeated season with a 7-0 record.
Brown is not the first NFL player to question the league’s drug test “randomness.”
Myles Garrett drug tested thrice
The league’s official policy on performance enhancing substances [PEDs] — agreed upon by the NFL players association [NFLPA] and the NFL management council — states that a computer program will randomly select 10 players to drug test every week during preseason and regular season.
Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, like Brown, was skeptical of the league’s PEDs policy.
Garrett, 26, was drug tested three times last season through his team’s first seven games.
He first joked that the NFL drug tested him after seeing his arms without sleeves and later said the league must be trying to clone him.
